Police investigating child's death in East Vancouver home

In a brief statement, the VPD said the child's death did not appear suspicious.

Vancouver police are investigating the death of what they term a "young child" in an East Vancouver home.

In a release, the VPD says officers were called to a home near Commercial Drive and Kitchener Street just after 4 p.m. PT on Wednesday for the reported death of a child.

Detectives from the VPD's Major Crime Section and the B.C. Coroners Service are on scene and investigating.

Police say the death does not appear suspicious.
