Vancouver Police arrest man after Fraser Street bank robbery
A man entered a TD Canada Trust on Fraser Street Tuesday night, claiming he had an explosive device.
Suspect fled in a taxi which was later located by police near Main Street and Terminal Avenue
Vancouver Police have a 35-year-old man in custody after he allegedly robbed a bank on Fraser Street Tuesday night.
A man entered the TD Canada Trust Bank near East 49th Avenue and Fraser Street around 8:00 p.m. PT, claiming he had an explosive device.
Vancouver Police Const. Brian Montague said the man was later seen entering a taxi after robbing the bank. Officers later found the taxi near Main Street and Terminal Avenue, where they surrounded it.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by a police dog unit. Police say the amount stolen was recovered.
The suspect remains in custody and robbery charges have been recommended. No explosive devices were located.
