The statement warns of an increased risk of heat-related illnesses as a heat wave hits the region.

Temperatures are expected to be highest on Saturday and Sunday afternoon with the mercury hitting the low 30s along the South Coast.

A chance of thunderstorms on Sunday evening could bring some relief, but the hot weather is expected to continue through Canada Day.

In the Interior, temperatures over 40 degrees are anticipated.

  • Granville and 70th Avenue
  • Ontario and 1st Avenue
