The seasonal showcase of local talent takes place at the Chinese Cultural Centre

Local designers are in the spotlight again for Vancouver Fashion Week's fall showcase.

The event features 20 separate shows throughout the week, including a kids event on the weekend. All events are being held at the Chinese Cultural Centre.

Producer Jamal Abdourahman told Our Vancouver host Gloria Macarenko that the strength of Vancouver's local talent lies in the city's diversity.

Watch him in this mini-fashion show featuring three female designers, each with a different take on being a strong woman.

The designers are Bahareh Memariam, RozeMerie Cuevas of JAC by Jacqueline Conoir, and Taranjit (Taran) Cheema of TKC Design.

Vancouver Fashion Week runs Sept. 19 to 25.
