Two men have been arrested in connection with the 2004 shooting of 27-year-old Amandeep Bath of Surrey, B.C, RCMP say.

On Sept. 20, the RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said 28-year-old Parminder Singh Basran has been charged with second degree murder and 29-year-old Bhabjit Singh Aujla has been charged with manslaughter and being an accessory after the fact.

Police say Bath was out with friends on the night of Sept. 23, 2004 when he was confronted by an acquaintance, which prompted Bath to call 911 as he left in his vehicle.

He was followed and both vehicles came to a stop in the 9100 block of 125th Street in Surrey, where Bath was shot and killed.

Though Surrey RCMP arrested both suspects in 2004, and the men were charged with homicide related charges, the charges were stayed in 2005 since the available evidence did not support a viable prosecution at the time.

Both Basran and Aujla are scheduled to make their first appearance in provincial court on Monday Sept. 23.
