TransLink says Cathy McLay will be taking over from Doug Allen as acting CEO.

It is also eliminating the position of executive vice president of planning and stakeholder relations in an effort to save salary costs and replacing Doug Kelsey who had been president and CEO of TransLink's SkyTrain operations.

Mike Richard will assume Kelsey's old role as head of the B.C. Rapid Transit Company, which operates two of Metro Vancouver's three SkyTrain lines. Richard has been with the company for 30 years.

In a written statement, TransLink says McLay, the organization's current CFO, will take over from Allen August 10 until a permanent person is in place. She also keeps her current role as the executive sponsor for the Compass Card system.

The organization said it has eliminated the position of executive vice president of planning and stakeholder relations in an effort to save salary costs.
