The Love Motel Sessions: Hannah Georgas and Ryan Guldemond
Duo recorded four songs in different rooms at a classic Vancouver "love motel"
Do you remember your first kiss? How about the first time you fell out of love? Love – it comes in so many forms, in so many ways. Nothing puts it all into perspective like Valentine’s Day.
For some, even those who are happily in love, Valentine’s Day can seem unnecessary, trivial, even misleading. For others, it’s a day to celebrate love or perhaps a perfect opportunity to shore up a relationship with a little something special.
Two Vancouver musicians, Hannah Georgas and Ryan Guldemond (of Mother Mother) recently recorded four songs for CBCMusic exploring the delicate subject of love – both joyous and sad. If you’ve ever been in love – you’ll recognize what these songs have to say.
To take this idea to another level, Ryan and Hannah recorded the songs in a “love motel” and found a classic motel for it – the 2400 Motel in Vancouver. Each song is recorded in a different room of the motel suite.
