Tentative deal averts B.C. bus strike
There will be no disruption in bus services offered by Pacific Coach Lines in southwestern B.C.
The company and the Canadian Auto Workers Union have reached an agreement to settle their contract dispute.
A company spokeswoman said details still must be worked out and a ratification vote must be held by the company's 127 unionized workers, but she said a work stoppage had been averted during mediated talks over the last few days.
Earlier this week, the union served strike notice that would have taken effect on Saturday and the company responded with lockout notice that could have gone into effect Friday.
Pacific Coach Lines runs scheduled services between Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo via BC Ferries, and a service between Vancouver and Whistler.
