TED2014 too expensive at $7,500? Watch free at Vancouver venues
Innovators' conference moves from California home to Vancouver for its 30th anniversary
More than 1,000 participants and experts in areas of technology, entertainment and design are converging on Vancouver for TED2014 today — the first time the annual conference has been held outside California.
Over the course of five days, more than 70 speakers including Chris Hadfield, Bill Gates and Sting are giving talks and presentations meant to challenge and entertain the audience members.
But if you're in Vancouver and didn't have the $7,500 to pay for delegate fees, a number of cheaper opportunities for watching the conference abound.
Screens have been set up for public viewing at local libraries, universities, outside BC Place and even on Grouse Mountain, and the City of Vancouver has published a helpful list of livestream locations.
The conference runs from Monday to Friday at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
