A male teacher at a daycare in Saanichton, B.C., near Victoria has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and three counts of invitation to sexual touching.

The seven charges against Feng Pan were sworn last week and they involve offences alleged to have happened between January 2017 and December 2019.

According to a copy of the charges, there are four alleged victims, all under the age of sixteen.

Pan was arrested last December after what Central Saanich police referred to as "allegations of concern."

At the time, police executed a search warrant at the Montessori Educare Daycare.

Pan is listed as the director of the Pan-Popham Corporation — the licence holder for the daycare. The daycare has since closed its doors and its website is no longer online.

Pan was released last week on an undertaking that requires him to report to a bail supervisor, to surrender his passport and to remain in Canada.

He is also not allowed to engage in any activities or employment involving anyone under the age of 16.

The prosecution service says Pan is scheduled to make his first appearance July 27.
