Targeted shooting in Surrey sends 1 to hospital

One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after what appears to be a targeted shooting in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP responded to reports of several shots being fired in the 12200 block of 92 Avenue, around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found one man with non life-threatening gunshot wounds at the scene. He was taken to hospital shortly after.

Police say a vehicle was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the incident, but they do not have a suspect vehicle description at this time.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police believe this shooting was targeted. 

On Friday, Surrey RCMP said they saw a spike in 'shots fired' incidents throughout March, and that there have been 28 such incidents so far in 2016.
