Surrey woman charged with mother's murder
Gloria Zerbinos charged with 2nd-degree murder of mother Panagiota Zerbinos.
A Surrey woman has been charged with second-degree murder after her mother's body was found in a Fleetwood area basement suite late last week.
The body of Panagiota Zerbinos, 43, was found inside a home on the 8400-block of 148A Street on Thursday afternoon, according to IHIT spokesman Cpl. Adam MacIntosh.
Two days later police arrested her daughter Gloria Zerbinos, 28, in downtown Vancouver and on Sunday she was charged with second-degree murder in the death.
Police have not released the cause of death or a motive for the killing, but did say it does not appear to be linked to drugs or gangs and no other suspects are being sought in the case.
Gloria Zerbinos remains in custody and is set to make her first court appearance on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. PT in Surrey Provincial Court.
