One man has died and another remains in hospital following a double stabbing in a Surrey high school parking lot Sunday night.

The two victims were found near Frank Hurt Secondary School in Newton, on the 13800 block of 77 Avenue, RCMP said.

It's believed both men were drinking and playing soccer outside the school when they were involved in an altercation with three young males, who were later joined by another group of three young males.

Both victims were stabbed in the chest in the confrontation. One of them, aged 19, died later in hospital. The survivor remains in serious condition.

No names have been released.

The suspects were all described as young Indo-Canadian males, dressed in dark clothing and thought to be approximately 20 years of age, according to Cpl. Dale Carr, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

No arrests have been made and officers say they had no suspects yet.
