Surrey, B.C. RCMP are following a trail of blood that investigators hope will lead them to where a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the torso on Friday afternoon.

Cpl. Scotty Schumann said the victim is in critical condition and rushed to hospital. Police were called to the area of 144 Street and 108th Avenue around 2:15 p.m. PT by B.C. Ambulance who found the stabbing victim at that location.

"It's obvious to investigators on the scene there that it wasn't the location of the offense and they're actually following a trail of blood that will hopefully lead to where it occurred," Schumann said.

There are no suspects at this point and no weapons have yet been found.

"The investigation is just in its infancy at this point."

B.C. Ambulance said two other people in stable condition were also taken to hospital.
