Surrey Six trial: Inside details of Red Scorpions gang
Witness told court that the New Westminster drug operation was the most profitable
A crown witness says she helped locate and rent crack cocaine “work houses” and made deliveries to customers in the Lower Mainland, B.C. Supreme Court heard Monday.
The woman, identified as “K.M.”, described life inside the Red Scorpions gang and about running crack cocaine operations allegedly involving Cody Haevischer and Matthew Johnston, who are charged in the execution-style murders of six people in a Surrey apartment in 2007.
Both men have pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy and six counts of first-degree murder. They had been standing trial along with alleged gang leader Michael Le, but he pleaded guilty last week to conspiracy to commit murder.
On Monday, the witness described a competitive business that delivered to users in Coquitlam, New Westminster, Langley and Richmond.
K.M. told the court the New Westminster operation was the most profitable, but said the police were always chasing them out of the city.
Two other men charged in the case, Jamie Kyle Bacon and Sophon Sek, will be tried separately at a later date.
