A 40-year-old man has minor injuries to his leg after an early morning shooting in Surrey, B.C.
RCMP say it happened just after 5:00 a.m. PT near 143 Street at 109 Avenue in the Bridgeview neighbourhood. Several gunshots were fired at a Surrey Metro taxi, shattering the window and injuring the passenger.
Mounties say there were numerous 911 calls about the attack, including a call from the victim confirming he had been hit.
The victim went to hospital on his own and was met by police. He was treated for his injuries and released. The taxi driver was not injured.
A motive for the attack is not known, but investigators say it is likely targeted.
No arrests have been made and Surrey RCMP are urging anyone with information to come forward.
