A man and woman are recovering in hospital after the latest targeted violence in Surrey, B.C.

A news release from Surrey RCMP says the victims were attacked at about 11:25 p.m. PT Monday in a home in the Cloverdale area.

After neighbours reported hearing gunshots from the property in the 7700 block of 184 Street, officers responded and found a man in the house suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and a woman who had been assaulted.

Investigators say the suspect had fled.

The victims and suspect are believed to know one another and police say the victims are known to them.

Several shootings under investigation

Officers have not linked the attack to any other recent violence in Surrey, including three other targeted shootings.

On Saturday, 47-year-old Paul Bennett was shot dead barely three kilometres away in what homicide investigators say was a targeted attack.

The bodies of two teens were found earlier this month at the side of a Cloverdale-area road following targeted slayings.

Officers are also investigating claims by a local internet radio host that she was shot at while driving earlier this week.
