Police in Surrey, B.C., are looking for suspects after an armed robbery in the city's Newton neighbourhood on Wednesday.

Police in Surrey, B.C., say they are looking for suspects after an armed robbery in the city's Newton neighbourhood on Wednesday.

RCMP say they a received a report just after 11 a.m. of an armed robbery at a business in the 8100-block of 128 Street. That address corresponds to the Payal Business Centre, a large shopping centre in Newton.

Police say a person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the robbery and was taken to hospital.

Police say they arrived "within minutes of the call," but were unable to find the suspects. They believe the suspects fled in a dark-coloured pickup truck.


"The investigation is in the early stages and police are working to obtain witness statements as well as video surveillance from the area," reads an RCMP statement.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video of the area is asked to contact Surrey RCMP.
