Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner joins police from Surrey and Delta in an update on the region's recent shootings linked to a street-level drug war.

News conference on the nearly two dozen shootings that have happened in just over a month

A recent spate of shootings in Surrey and Delta, B.C., is being addressed at a news conference being held by Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner.

There have been nearly two dozen shootings in the two communities since March 9. The latest victim was Arun Bains, nephew of MLA Harry Bains.

The conference is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PT.

Hepner will be joined by Delta police's Acting Chief Lyle Beaudion, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Supt. Dwayne McDonald, and the B.C. Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit Chief Supt. Kevin Hackett.
