A man is in hospital after a reported drive-by shooting in Surrey, according to RCMP.

Sgt. Duane Honeyman with Surrey RCMP says officers responded to the area around 144 St. and 92 Ave. around 2 a.m. Friday, after receiving reports of a shooting.

"There was a vehicle leaving the area … some shell casings were located at the scene." said Honeyman.

Shortly after they responded, they received a call that a man in his mid-20s arrived in hospital on his own, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He arrived in stable condition.

Honeyman said the investigation is ongoing.
