Steveston Museum: Chance to touch White Glove collection artifacts

Go behind the scenes of Steveston's Gulf of Georgia Cannery.

Unique museum tour is part of 500 activities organized as part of B.C.'s Culture Days

The White Glove Collections Storage Tour at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Museum takes visitors on a behind the scenes tour of the national historic site as part of B.C.'s Culture Days.

Visitors can put on their gloves and hold some of the fascinating and rarely-seen maritime artifacts that are housed in the vast, drafty building that was built in 1894.

The unique museum tour is just one of the 500 activities planned as part of the festival. Events starting today and continuing until Sunday include art shows, performances and hands-on workshops.

To hear the full interview listen to the audio labelled Steveston museum: Chance to handle artifacts (with gloves) with the CBC's Rick Cluff on The Early Edition.
