Police appeal for witnesses after senior killed in Stanley Park

Detectives are looking for anyone who spoke with Lubomir 'Lubo' Kunik, 61, shortly before his death.

Vancouver police are asking for the public's help as they investigate the killing of a senior in Stanley Park.

Lubomir "Lubo" Kunik, 61, died Wednesday night. He was found suffering from stab wounds on the seawall between Second and Third Beach around 11 p.m. PT.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators from the department's Major Crime Section are hoping to speak to anyone who knew Kunik or someone who had contact with him in the moments leading up to his death.

Police are also looking for anyone who was on the seawall between English Bay and Prospect Point on Wednesday between 8 and 11 p.m.
