Report of sexual assault at Saanich home under investigation

The suspect is described as tall with short blond hair, an athletic build and was possibly wearing glasses.

Saanich police are investigating after a report of a woman being sexually assaulted at a friend's home in the Gordon Head neighbourhood.

Police said the attack happened before 2 a.m. Sunday in the 3900-block of Wolf Street, in a home where the 22-year-old woman was staying with friends.

They said a man entered the home brandishing a knife and assaulted the woman. The suspect and victim are not known to each other, police said.

The suspect is described as tall with short blond hair, an athletic build and was possibly wearing glasses. Police said the home was dark at the time of the attack.

Police are reminding residents to secure their homes at night, as investigators learned some houses in the area are not being secured.

The woman is recovering with the support of her friends and victim services, police said. They are still looking for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity in the area. at the time.
