Sexual assault at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford investigated
Police say the victim managed to fight off the white male attacker
Police in Abbotsford, B.C., are searching for a suspect after a woman was groped while walking through Mill Lake Park last week.
The incident occurred last Thursday, Nov. 20, at around 10:30 p.m. PT as the woman was walking along Bourquin Crescent West.
"She noticed a a man walking behind her in the area of the bus exchange. The man moved ahead of her and entered the Mill Lake Boardwalk," said a statement issued by police.
"Moments later as she was about to pass another entrance to the boardwalk, the man jumped out and grabbed her from behind while pulling her into the park. A struggle ensued and the victim was grabbed, groped and struck by the assailant."
The woman managed to push the attacker off balance and run from the park. She reported the incident to police the next day.
The suspect is described as white, aged 30 to 40 years old, 5'9" tall with short dark hair and stubble.
He was wearing dark track pants, white running shoes and a dark hoodie with a circular design on the front.
