Foul play not suspected in Surrey man's death, police say

A stretch of King George Boulevard in Surrey has reopened after being closed for a few hours following the discovery of a man's body in a vehicle.

Surrey RCMP say the B.C. Coroner's service is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in a vehicle in north Surrey, but foul play is not suspected. (CBC)

RCMP say foul play is not suspected follwing the discovery of a man's body in a vehicle on King George Boulevard in north Surrey Wednesday morning.

"The B.C. Coroners Service now has conduct of the matter and will be continuing their investigation into the cause of the sudden death," said Cpl. Scotty Schumann in a release.

King George Boulevard between 128 and 132 Streets reopened just before 4 p.m. after being closed in both directions for a few hours while police were on scene.

Surrey RCMP were called to the scene at 11:40 a.m. after a passerby observed an unresponsive person in a vehicle in the 12800 block of King George Boulevard, police said in a statement.
