The Interior Health Authority has confirmed a new case of measles in 100 Mile House, B.C., nearly two weeks after a previous case of the infection was discovered in the southern Interior community.

These are the only cases of measles in the Interior Health region, according to the health authority, and not linked to other cases on B.C.'s coast, according to a statement.

The first case of measles in 100 Mile House was confirmed on March 9, and likely acquired outside of B.C.

The risk to the public is considered low, and Interior Health is following up with people who may have come into contact with the patient.

The health authority is warning people who were at Interlakes Market in 100 Mile House on Wednesday March 13, between 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, that they may have been exposed to measles.

Interior Health is asking people who were at the market at that time to speak with a public health nurse to review  their vaccination histories.
