Rolling Stones postpone Vancouver concert

The Rolling Stones concert scheduled for Vancouver Friday has been postponed because lead singer Mick Jagger is having throat problems.

The concert, part of the Bigger Bang world tour, has been rescheduled forNov. 25, the concert promoters said in a news release issued Tuesday.

They saidthe Stones have been advised to take four days off from their world tour to let Jagger, 63,recover from throat problems.

Theband is also postponing performances in Oakland, Calif., and in Los Angeles and has cancelled a concert in Honolulu because of Jagger's medical problems.

A concert in New Jersey was postponed last week just hours before it was to begin, while laryngitis disrupted dates in Spain in August.

Theworld tour started in Boston in August 2005.

Tickets for the Friday date in Vancouver will be honoured on the rebooked show, the promoters said.

The change, ifthe concertgoes ahead as scheduled, will make Vancouver the last show in the long-running tour.

Earlier in the tour, concert dates had to be postponed while Keith Richards recovered from a head injury.

On Monday, the Stones announced that a rare club appearance scheduled for the next day at New York's Beacon Theatre had been delayed on the advice of Jagger's doctor.

The rescheduled show, which is being taped for a DVD by director Martin Scorsese, will go ahead Nov. 1 despite the doctor's warnings, a spokeswoman said.

The Stones played Regina and Halifax for the first time earlier this year.
