Road rage explodes on Kingsway

The Burnaby RCMP say a 19-year-old driver was beaten up on Monday for giving the right of way to an ambulance going down Kingsway with its lights and siren on.

The victim told police that when he slowed down to make way for the ambulance, the driver of the SUV behind him began honking.

The Burnaby man, who does not want to be identified, said he gestured to the ambulance as it passed to explain to the angry driver behind him why he had slowed down.

When he stopped at the next red light, three people jumped out of the car behind him, opened his door and began punching and kicking him before driving off.

He wasn't badly injured, but told police he is still terrified. He says he can't believe anyone would attack him for doing the right thing.

Police say they are looking for three men – all of them described as Asian and in their 20s, about five feet seven inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds.

The beating victim told investigators that one of them had dyed blond hair and one of them had a bad complexion.

Police say the vehicle they're looking for is a grey Nissan Pathfinder – with B.C. licence plate number 760-EXB.
