Man charged with assault, making racist threats on SkyTrain

Peter Anthony Lee Gagen has been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm in relation to an alleged altercation at Broadway-City Hall Station on Aug. 20.

Transit Police have arrested a man for alleged racially-charged assaults and threats at a SkyTrain station 

Peter Anthony Lee Gagen has been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm during an alleged altercation at Broadway-City Hall station on Saturday.

A witness says he stepped in to try and defuse a situation where a white man was hurling racist insults and threats at an Asian woman and her adult son at Broadway-City Hall station.

The conflict escalated, and the witness began recording a video of the situation.

Transit Police began an investigation and arrested Gagen Thursday.

Gagen is scheduled to make a court appearance Friday afternoon.
