Pure fentanyl and heroin seized in major Lower Mainland drug bust

New Westminster police say they have seized $300,000 worth of heroin laced with a lethal amount of fentanyl and a quantity of pure fentanyl.

New Westminster police say they have seized $300,000 worth of heroin laced with a lethal amount of fentanyl as well as pure fentanyl in a large drug bust. 

Search warrants executed in New Westminster and Surrey also led to a significant seizure of weapons, replica guns, a large amount of cash and multiple vehicles.

Sergeant Jeff Scott said a number of people known to police have been arrested and are facing charges but because the investigation is still ongoing names are not being released.

Scott said the investigation was a coordinated effort between a number of law enforcement agencies including the New Westminster Police, Delta Police, Surrey RCMP, and Canada Border Services Agency.
