Power Rangers movie casts Vancouver's Ludi Lin as Black Ranger
Actor now based in Beijing but studied at UBC and family still lives in Vancouver
The producers of the upcoming Power Rangers movie has cast its latest major role and he's got Vancouver-roots.
Actor Ludi Lin has been tapped to play Zack, the Black Ranger.

The popular 1990s children's television show is getting a reboot as a major live-action feature film set to be released in 2017.

The actor has already had big successes in Asia, but remains relatively unknown in North America.
He just made his feature film debut in the biggest film to hit box offices in China — the Chinese-made fantasy movie, Monster Hunt.
Lin emigrated to Vancouver with his family during his late teens and later studied theatre at UBC.
His Vancouver-based agent, Andrew Ooi, says his family still lives on the West Coast.
Due to the rules around the production, Lin wasn't able to do conduct any interviews but shared his excitement about his new role on social media.
