Port Mann Bridge lane changes for Coquitlam-bound drivers in effect
Lane changes are going into effect on the Port Mann, prior to the completion of the project this spring
Drivers travelling on Highway 1 between Surrey and Coquitlam will have to make some adjustments starting this weekend.
Beginning today, motorists using the Port Mann Bridge heading west to Coquitlam will have to commit to one of two dedicated lanes to access Exit 44 to Highway 7 and Highway 7B.

—@PortMannHwy1To use Exit 44, drivers travelling from Surrey are being asked to follow the signs and keep right after passing the 152nd Street interchange.
Motorists entering the highway from the 152nd Street on-ramp will have the option of keeping to the right to enter Coquitlam via Exit 44, or staying left to remain on Highway 1 west.
Drivers in the HOV lane and drivers who enter the bridge from the 156 Street HOV on-ramp will not be able to use Exit 44, and will have to use the Brunette interchange to get to Coquitlam.
According to a bulletin issued by the Port Mann/Highway 1 Project, one of the two new dedicated lanes to Coquitlam will be temporarily closed for two weeks, depending on weather.
The lane changes were made to help crews complete final drainage, shift barriers in the median and finish top-lift paving and pavement markings.
The bulletin says the the bridge project should be complete later this spring. More traffic pattern changes are expected before then.
