Port Hardy RCMP investigating suspected homicide

Port Hardy RCMP are investigating a suspected homicide after receiving a report late Sunday afternoon. Police say there is no information suggesting a greater risk at this time.

Port Hardy RCMP are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was assaulted on Sunday.

RCMP said they received a report of an injured person in the 8800 block of Park Drive. The person was transported to the hospital, where they died of their injuries.

"We don't have any information to suggest that there is a greater risk at this time," said RCMP spokesperson Vanessa Munn.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIMCU) has been deployed to assist with the investigation, as well as the force's Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and the B.C. Coroners Service, police said.
