Police open 2 homicide cases
A man found dead inside his home and a body pulled from the Fraser River are the latest cases being probed by the Lower Mainland's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
In Abbotsford, a 40-year-old man was found dead inside the front door of his house on the 1400 block of Kipling Street, said police.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots around 11 p.m. PT.
Police say the victim was well known to them and they are now looking for a late- model, silver SUV, which may have been made by a German or British manufacturer, in connection with the shooting.
In a second incident, the crew of a tugboat pulled a body from the Fraser River near the Knight Street Bridge.
Police said the body appeared to have been in the river for some time, and were treating the death as suspicious until an autopsy is completed.
IHIT did not release the identity of either victim.
