The Fair at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver is looking to hire 1,500 seasonal employees for its upcoming season.

The fair, which runs from Aug. 22 to Sept. 22, features nightly musical entertainment, shows and rides.

It's hiring in more than 40 job categories, from barn hands to bartenders to guest services personnel.

"The PNE has a tradition of being a first job employer for generations of British Columbians," the PNE's vice-president of human resources, Jeff Strickland, said in a written release.

"Unlike most employers, the PNE doesn't require job experience to get job experience, if you have a good attitude and a willingness to work, we will find the right job within our organization and provide the training for the applicant."

Wages range from $9.66 to $15.30 per hour and vary depending on the department and skills required to do the job.

Applicants can apply online at the PNE's website.

The deadline for applications is June 20.

The PNE, owned by the city of Vancouver, is a non-profit charity organization. In addition to the annual 17-day fair, it also operates Playland Amusement Park.
