Man dead after altercation in Penticton, B.C.: RCMP

RCMP in B.C.'s southern Interior say one man has been found dead after an altercation near the shores of the Okanagan Lake in Penticton, B.C.

One man has been found dead after an altercation between several people near the shores of the Okanagan Lake in Penticton, B.C., RCMP in B.C.'s southern Interior say. 

Police said in a Sunday statement that they first responded to reports of the altercation around 2 a.m. PT on Sunday near the Riverside Skate Park.

When they arrived, they found one man critically injured, who has since died.

Police closed off the area of Lakeshore Drive, near Power Street, and the skate park while they investigated the death.


"Police are investigating this as a criminal act, and want to reassure the public that it appears targeted," said Cpl. James Grandy in a statement.
