Pemberton Music Festival 2014 lineup announced
B.C. festival north of Whistler first took place in 2008 with headliners Jay-Z and Coldplay
Nine Inch Nails, Outkast and Deadmau5 will all be strutting their stuff in the fields of B.C. this summer as part of the Pemberton Music Festival lineup.
The festival, which runs July 18 to 20, announced their lineup Wednesday, with Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Metric, The Flaming Lips, The New Pornographers and Snoop Dogg all part of the show.
Tickets go on sale Friday April 11 at 10 a.m. PT, and are being offered at a variety of levels, including various camping packages and shuttle options back and forth to the site from Whistler, if sleeping under canvas isn't your thing..
The festival first took place in 2008, with headliners Jay-Z and Coldplay, but a planned return in 2009 was cancelled by organizers Live Nation after an ongoing dispute over the use of prime farmland for the festival's site.
The 2008 festival also resulted in huge transportation and garbage issues for the immediate area.
Pemberton's festival may have the edge on rival Squamish Music Festival in terms of timing this year (the latter is later in August), but it remains to be seen if the lineup will excite music-lovers as much.
Squamish is headlining with Eminem, Arcade Fire, The Arctic Monkeys and Bruno Mars.
