A pedestrian was hit by a TransLink bus near 176 Avenue and Fraser Highway in Surrey, B.C.

Victim has been taken to hospital in serious condition, B.C. Ambulance Service says

A pedestrian has been struck by a TransLink bus on the Fraser Highway in Surrey, B.C.

TransLink spokeswoman Anne Drennan confirmed the bus was operated by the Coast Mountain Bus Company.

RCMP said the pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, was struck shortly after 4 p.m. PT near the intersection of 176 Street and the Fraser Highway. They said the man was taken to hospital with critical injuries. 

The cause of the collision is under investigation and the bus driver has been cooperating with police, said RCMP.
