Parallel 49 brews up a tribute to local beer lover
A "Strathcona Pale Ale" will be released in honour of homebrewer Dan Small
The Parallel 49 Brewing Company is sending out casks of "Dan's Homebrewing Strathcona Pale Ale" to a handful of pubs in an effort to remember an innovator in Vancouver brewing who passed away last month.
Dan Small of Dan's Homebrewing Supplies passed away in July of cancer.
Parallel 49's Graham With told The Early Edition's Elaine Chau that Small was known for his in-depth knowledge of beer and sourcing out the best homebrewing and would always be willing to offer advice when something just doesn't taste right.
With often asked Dan for help with his own beer and six years ago, started his experiments with barley, malt, and hops by heading to Dan's store. Now, he's the head brewer at Parallel 49 — one of Vancouver's most popular brewing companies.
"Dan's Homebrewing Strathcona Pale Ale" will be available at pubs like the St-Augustine's, Alibi Room, and Biercraft in the days to come.
