Othman Ayed Hamdan, a Fort St. John resident accused of posting pro-ISIS propaganda online, appeared via video link in a Vancouver courtroom today.

Six terrorism-related charges laid against him last year were withdrawn and four new federal charges were laid.

The 33-year-old man is now charged with counseling the commission of the offence of murder at the direction of or in association with a terrorist group

He is also charged with counselling assault causing bodily harm, mischief and directing a person to carry out a terrorist activity.

The charges relate to incidents between Sept. 22, 2014 and July 2015 in Fort St. John B.C.

Earlier this year, Hamdan, sitting behind  a glass partition in the prisoner's box and sporting closely-cropped black hair, a beard and a dark grey T-shirt, appeared at a bail hearing.

He shook his head at times, while evidence was presented.

CBC News cannot report on any evidence heard due to a publication ban.

RCMP accuse Hamdan of distributing propaganda connected with ISIS and allege he was instructing people to commit murder in the name of jihad.

His next court appearance is set for Oct. 6.
