Police say they want to talk to this man after hitchhiker stole pick-up truck and assaulted driver

Oliver RCMP are hunting for a suspect they consider extremely dangerous, and potentially armed.

Ronald Teneycke's vehicle was found on a service road in the forest near Oliver during a police investigation into an armed robbery earlier this week.

Teneycke, 53, is wanted on three outstanding warrants, related to probation and explosives.

Around 11:30 am on July 22, a report came into RCMP from a driver who picked up a hitchhiker the Baldy Mountain Forest Service Road. The driver says he was attacked with a weapon, then the hitchhiker stole his 1999 white GMC pick-up truck. The license plate is 7621 GG, and the truck has the business sign: "Okanagan Rustic Furniture" written across the back window.

RCMP urge the public to be very cautious if they see this man, and call police.
