North Vancouver RCMP issue public warning after 2 women grabbed, groped
Police concerned same individual may be responsible

North Vancouver RCMP are advising people to travel in pairs after two women were recently attacked by an unknown man in two separate incidents.
"Trust your instincts and be aware of your surroundings. If at all possible travel in pairs, especially if you are out walking late at night." Insp. Jennifer Hyland said in a statement as RCMP issued a public warning.
Police say they are concerned the attacks could be linked to the same person.
The first assault occurred in the 1700 block of Lonsdale Avenue on Jan. 11. Police say a woman was walking northbound when she was approached by a man, who grabbed her from behind, put his hand between her legs and groped her.
The second incident happened eight days later in the same general area, in the 100 block of East 15th Street.
This time, according to police, the suspect grabbed the woman's buttock, but as in the first incident, ran off after accosting the victim.
Police say the suspect was wearing a black hoodie in both attacks.
In one incident, the victim described her attacker as being a Caucasian male in his 30s, medium build, approximately six feet tall with dark hair.
In the other, the man was described as being five feet eight inches tall, wearing light-coloured jeans, running shoes, and a hoodie which had a logo on the back.
Travel in pairs
"While police cannot confirm there is a link between the two assaults, investigators acknowledge that both incidents took place in the same general area. In view of the similarities, police said they felt it was appropriate to issue a public warning.
North Vancouver RCMP say they have made the investigation of these two incidents a priority and "are using all available resources to identify the culprits and determine if there are links between them."
In the meantime, they are directing people to the street safety tips on their website.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the two attacks to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
