Murderer escapes from Mission, B.C., prison

A 60-year-old convicted killer escaped Saturday from a minimum-security prison east of Vancouver.

A 60-year-old convicted killer escaped Saturday from a minimum-security prison east of Vancouver.

Corrections officials said Blane MacDougal walked away from the Ferndale Institution in Mission.

MacDougal was serving a life sentence for a number of charges, including murder, indecent assault, sexual assault with a weapon and kidnapping.

He's described as Caucasian, six-feet tall, weighing about 74 kilograms and balding with brown hair. He also has a tattoo of a dragon on his chest.
