Man seriously injured after being shot in Mission, B.C., parking lot, say RCMP
RCMP say a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle parked at Superstore on Lougheed Hwy
Police say a man was seriously injured in a shooting in the parking lot of a Real Canadian Superstore in Mission, B.C., on Wednesday night.
Mission RCMP say in a statement that they first responded to a call of multiple shots being fired at a vehicle around 7:30 p.m.
When police arrived at the parking lot, located at 32136 Lougheed Highway, they found a 41-year-old man with gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle.
B.C. Emergency Health Services told CBC News that two ambulances responded to the shooting, and a person was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Cpl. Harrison Mohr said in a statement that early indications suggest it was a targeted shooting.
"Witnesses describe a vehicle fleeing from the scene, however we are still working to confirm a description," Mohr said.
Police say they do not believe that there is an ongoing risk to the public as a result of the shooting.
Their statement adds that the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore is likely to be closed through Thursday morning.
