Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Vancouver Tuesday night, just blocks from GM Place, where hockey fans were leaving the Vancouver Canucks game.

An unidentified man was shot three times at Victory Square at the corner of Cambie and Pender streets.

Police say he was wounded in the leg, abdomen and lower back, but managed to run a block down Pender toward Chinatown before collapsing on the sidewalk.

"When we arrived, we foundsome people pointing out a man who was laying on the ground on the south side of Pender Street with non-life threatening injuries, " said Insp. Bob Chapman.

Police spoke to him, but Chapman said he wasn't co-operative, refusing to tell them anything about the shooting.

However, witnesses have told investigators they saw a dark-skinnedman running away toward Chinatown soon after the shots rang out.

As officers marked off the blood-stained concrete, cars full of hockey fans slowed down, with somerollingdown their windows to shout at the police and media gathered at the scene.
