Male youth arrested at McMath Secondary after threats force day-long lockdown
Threatening messages posted on social media and on the Richmond school's own wifi service
A male youth has been arrested at Richmond's McMath Secondary school in connection with threatening messages that were posted to social media and on the school's own guest Wi-Fi service.
Richmond RCMP are not saying if the person arrested is a student.
The messages targeted specific groups in the school and were seen by most of the school's 1,400 students.
A day-long lockdown forced students to stay in their first period classrooms until 2:30 p.m. PT when police announced the threat had been resolved.
The threat to McMath has been resolved. The students are being dismissed. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SD38?src=hash">#SD38</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/RichmondBC?src=hash">#RichmondBC</a> Thanks for you patience

Richmond RCMP Corp.Dennis Hwang says no charges have been laid and that the investigation is still ongoing.
"Just because one arrest has been made it doesn't mean it's the end of it," said Hwang.
