More than a month after the death of a woman in the B.C. Interior, North Okanagan RCMP have announced a second-degree murder charge against the victim's ex-husband.

On April 13, Tatjana Stefanski, 44, was reported missing from the village of Lumby, about 50 kilometres northeast of Kelowna, B.C.  At the time, Lumby RCMP said she was seen while speaking with her ex-husband before "departing unexpectedly with him."

One day later, RCMP say police found her body in a rural location and arrested a man nearby. The man was released from custody.

RCMP said Stefanski's ex-husband, Vitali Stefanski, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday and was in custody, pending a court appearance.
