Clark's Liberals have mounted a largely stay-the-course campaign so far, highlighting their five consecutive balanced budgets and stewardship of Canada's top-performing economy.

Under Horgan, the New Democrats are trying to persuade voters that B.C. needs to switch things up after 16 years of Liberal governments.

The party is running on the slogan that the NDP will oversee a government not beholden to corporations and wealthy individual donors.

Weaver said he planned to stick to the issues during Wednesday's debate, staying away from the acrimonious exchanges between Horgan and Clark that were featured in last week's radio exchange.

The event was hosted by the B.C. Broadcast Consortium and moderated by CTV anchor Jennifer Burke.
