A Vancouver Island man got a treat when a group of orcas came really close to shore and had a feeding frenzy on Friday.

Orcas came really close to shore at Dodd Narrows near Nanaimo

A Vancouver Island man got a treat when a group of orcas came really close to shore and had a feeding frenzy on Friday. 

Chad Giesbrecht said he was walking along the Dodd Narrows around 4:20 p.m. PT when he spotted the killer whales. 

"It's always a bit of an adrenaline rush when they swim up so close," he said. 

"They were close enough that they could nip your feet."
