Kenneth Bryson Williams charged in fatal stabbing of taxicab passenger

A 23-year-old Burnaby man has been charged in the stabbing death of a taxicab passenger on February 9, in what was Vancouver's first homicide of the year.

A 23-year-old Burnaby man has been charged in the stabbing death of a taxicab passenger on February 9, in what was Vancouver's first homicide of the year.

Charged with one count of 2nd degree murder is Kenneth Bryson Williams.

Police say a taxi driver got into an argument with two men  at Granville and West Georgia shortly after 11 p.m. PT.

His passenger got out of the cab and joined in the dispute which escalated into a fight and ended with the passenger being stabbed.

Police say they found the victim lying on the sidewalk unconscious. He was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries.

Acting on information provided by witnesses, police arrested two men. 

After months of investigation, Williams has been charged and taken into custody. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Vancouver on Nov. 28 at 9:30 a.m. PT.
